Transcending Boundaries: The Art of Anthony Quinn - National Hellenic Museum

The National Hellenic Museum is pleased to announce the opening of an exhibition that pays tribute to the legendary actor and artist Anthony Quinn, who brought to life one of the greatest and most life-affirming literary characters of our time - the irrepressible Zorba the Greek.

The depth and breadth of Quinn's creative genius is showcased in an exhibition of more than seventy of his emotive paintings and powerful sculptures, which represent just a small portion of his enormous body of work. Personal items from his studio will also be on display at the museum.

"More than five decades after the film's release, Anthony Quinn's powerful portrayal of Zorba remains seared in our minds as the image of the quintessential Greek," says Connie Mourtoupalas, the Museum's President of Cultural Affairs and curator of the exhibition.

Dates: June 19, 2015 - October 2015
